I don't believe I've ever heard this long drawnout "Oooooo". Seriously.

I'll say "Blair Road", a cringeworthy "woof" instead of "wolf" and a few(?) other words that are allegedly associated with my roots. I grew up hearing "idear" but I think I rejected that pronunciation at a very young age. I have never heard anyone say "Balamer." However, I did have to practice saying "Baltimore" instead of "Baldamore." Water or wash, forget it. I throw an "R" in each of those.

There are some words and pronunciations that are only spoken in certain parts of town, such as Southwest Baltimore, etc. But in general, we all seem to have a "lazy tongue."

*Dang. I just learned that "jewelry" is not pronounced "joolry". WTH?

The drawn out "o" or "oor" is more so in the black ppl. Also bag is pronounced "baig" or "beg"

Sink is pronounced "zink", and a plumber from South Baltimore or Pigtown will spell it just like they pronounce it. Pictures is pronounced "pixtures", particularly by those from East Baltimore.

Just moved here from Boston 7 months ago. I drive Uber.

The answer is HELL YES. Baltimore Accent is obnoxiously strong and in Black culture we all know it, tEWW dEWWW yEWWW, avenEWWW, ruff, dugg etc.. The white Baltimore Accent is there to Wooder/Warsh.

It’s absolutely crazy. Never heard anything remotely like this in my life.
