I am 20, I have a friend (same age) who did not know who the mayor was. I mentioned Catherine Pugh name and his response was "who is that?".

It's sad, but some serious educating about politics should be done. They vote for people because of their skin color, word of mouth (who their friends/family think should win), or because of the party the candidate associates with and not because of the candidate as an individual and their insight and goals.

I am even more disgusted @ how many people are saying "they should have gave Sheila a chance if this was going to happen". Sheila betrayed y'all as well. How about y'all look for someone who can actually make a change for a chance..

It's sickening.
Sounds like me when I was a young city data-er about 10 years ago. Damn I been here that long

Am I the only one who suspects that she's using her "sickness" as a way to buy time to avoid jail and keep her pension? It seems like that would be the optimal decision for her.

Her pension eligibility, which would primarily come from her time in the Legislature, wouldn't be at risk in any event. She's likely just waiting for it to blow over, which is usually what happens, to "get better".

Now, she might be waiting to hit a benchmark like another year's credit.

Although not fit for leadership Catherine Pugh is a dag on genius when it comes to finagling the game.

She should be in jail, truth be told. But then so should Hillary Clinton.

As a recent transplant. Most levels of city admin are horribly inefficient. Is anyone thinking of the regular kids who are unlucky enough to have to be poor and grow up here. There are tens of thousands of kids who arent doing crime, arent gang-banging etc....they just have to live here and are trying to make decent lives and the city gives them nothing.

I haven’t read the whole thread so apologies if this is a dupe but I just now saw it. FBI is searching her home.

Hard to believe there is no discussion about the FBI raid currently taking place in Pugh's City Hall, home, and business!

Its only a matter of time now until she resigns. I wouldn't mind Jack Young as Mayor tbh.

IRS too. what a cluster****.

“Mayor Pugh has lost the public trust. She is clearly not fit to lead. For the good of the city, Mayor Pugh must resign.”
