There was a thread that discussed new ideas on what is and is not holding the City back... I couldnt find it so I decided just to post this here..I had opined in the other thread about at large districts and less single member districts which (in theory) increases the level of representation of residents and allows for coalitions to be built among neighborhoods across larger sections of the city as opposed to just at a "district" level..You will have a district rep and an at large rep.. The at large would cover several districts and could also serve a check on an stubborn Mayor as they could build smaller but strong coalitions across the Council. It appears Bill Henry agrees....There is another here about open primaries...which may also be a good idea given the corruption leveled at the city and its political class..... Lets see if it passes
