We are 3 ladies, in our mid 60's and want to go fishing. We are from the Pittsburgh area and thought Baltimore might be a good choice for a short road trip and a few days to see Baltimore and take a fishing trip. One of us has been drift fishing in Florida and another has done deep sea fishing and the other has never fished before.

We are not so passionate that we want to spend a small fortune on a charter but would like maybe a four hour or so fishing trip. Let's just call it probably our last hurrah to fish. Is there such a thing as drift fishing or something similar in Baltimore?

Any suggestions?

It's expensive to take a 4hr+ guided boat on the bay but that is probably what you want.

Google searching suggests a price range of about $400 or so to rent a charter boat for 1/2 a day. Split between 3 people that isn't too bad. The fishing in the Chesapeake is good, and you would probably have a fun 3 days in Baltimore. Consider visiting Annapolis as well if a water town vibe is what you are looking for.

I think you should make Annapolis your base, not Baltimore. Google "boat charters Annapolis" or "boat charters Maryland Eastern Shore". There will be plenty to choose from. Take a couple of them in different areas on different days. You can do an overnight or two in Baltimore on the way to/from Annapolis. You will like it so much this will probably be the start of regular fishing trips.

Thank you for this. We will look into Annapolis as well. $400 isn't bad, thought it would be a lot more expensive.

Appreciate that SWPA probably does have good trout fishing but that isn't what we are looking for. We don't have gear and don't want to sit on a riverbank, but wish to go out in a boat, gear provided, and just enjoy fishing for a few hours. Looking for a place not too far from PA that provides this and that we can go to this summer.

Thank you for this and I will google boat charters as you suggest. Two of us are really looking forward to this trip and have convinced the third that fishing is a lot of fun. What type of fish would we expect to catch?
