Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby spent two weeks in Europe in May 2019, learning about the prison systems in Germany and Portugal while staying at the Hilton Berlin and Lisbon’s PortoBay Liberdade, both five-star hotels.
Last August, she traveled to the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort, perched 7,000 feet above the world’s largest valley, exchanging insights about government graft and corruption with Kenya’s public prosecutor between wildlife outings.
Two months after that, she was in Edinburgh, Scotland, ensconced in the Balmoral Hotel to attend a gathering designed to foster cross-global collaboration about U.S. drug sentencing laws.
Overall, in 2018 and 2019, Baltimore’s top prosecutor went on 23 out-of-town trips sponsored by nonprofits and other groups, according to financial disclosure statements filed with the Maryland State Ethics Commission.

The question is whether there's an ethical concern re: accepting PRIVATE reimbursement of expenses related to the events.

Corruption breeds decay. Baltimore inches ever closer and closer to becoming Burkina Faso every day. The Mosbys have been a stain on the city for well over a decade: they largely do not prosecute real crimes while circling the drain of criminality in their own right. Those they do prosecute tend to get slaps on the wrist or otherwise go through the revolving door of Baltimore's "justice system" right back out onto the streets. They know what they're doing.

I'm not sure you can get a political position in Baltimore without turning a blind-eye toward corruption. In a more just world the state would allow Baltimore to simply fail as real taxpayers get fed up with the decay and move out (Baltimore has lost 40% of it's population from peak). A collapse would force real change, but as long as there are resources to be had they will keep wasting them in ever more inefficient ways. Unfortunately the State of Maryland, meaning taxpayers in the other 23 counties, props Baltimore up in every way possible with money and resources.

Marilyn Mosby used taxpayer money for unnecessary travel and she uses it carelessly.
Nobody legit takes this many trips at 5 star hotels when they are supposed to be working for taxpayers.
She was also the fool that told the rioters back in 2015 to have their space and let them destroy.
Taxpayers are still paying for that action.

Does it really matter? All the democrat politicians in Baltimore have helped destroy the city and she was part of it as I remember back in 2015. At this point Baltimore never comes back to what it was.
