There's a number of teardowns in that area, including on the County side just off Pimlico Road in that area of 1960s split levels, replaced with much larger McMansions housing large orthodox families. That area had once been solidly reform/conservative Jews but is trending Orthodox and will likely be solidly Orthodox in due time.

For reform/conservative Jews interested in city living, it's usually Mount Washington and North Baltimore (where most kids are in private schools one way or another).
There are some big plans for the Pimlico Racetrack that appear to be "approved" atleast from what I have read online.. One phase is the track, buildings, and the infield for the actual race and the second phase is the outparcels for retail, hotel, office and mixed type housing.. Sinai has already jumped in with both feet on the eastern end with discussions of office space. I imagine that once dirt starts turn on the actual track/buildings that other developers may come in and start picking off the retail and housing components.. The hotel ideas is interesting.. not only for the track but potentially to benefit Sinai and if the athletic fields in the new multi purpose infield are able to attract leagues. Assuming leagues are part of the plan, I wouldnt leave that to City Rec and Parks.. they need to outsource that to some other entity with that type of experience.. All in all it could be a win win for that end of the City.

My parents are retired Fed Employees who worked out there for almost half a century. It's been a dump for a long time.

My Mother was mugged going to the Gym after work back in the late 80's.

The city has had various big plans that never came to fruition, such as the Howard street redevelopment of the 1980s. I will have more faith in Pimlico redevelopment plans when things actually start to happen. Tallk is cheap.
