This is nothing new for the O's. Growing up and remaining an O's fan, I remember throughout the late 90's through the mid-2000's, they have been infamous for going on these extremely long losing streaks. It's really weird how streaky they are, and how long their losing streaks are over the years.

The other really weird thing about the O's over the same stretch (and even going back farther to when Ripken was still playing in the mid/early 90's), is that they very rarely have had any everyday player who hits for .300 or better. You can count on one hand the number of everyday players (who were starters for the full season) that have ended the season hitting .300 or better since the mid 90's. Another weird oddity about this team.

They're for the most part a stealth AAA franchise, and now with the contraction of MiLB, even more so. Haven't seen a game at Camden Yards since 2018, and now that for at least this season they are prohibiting all outside food/water, provides less of a reason to come and see a game. John Means is the only consistently good pitcher, and I hope things turn around for the team by 2023 so that he doesn't get traded away for more prospects, only to have the next breakout star get traded to a contenting team. We just need to accept the franchise for what it is just like you can't accept Baltimore as a truly world-class city; don't expect any pennants, but hope for the best and enjoy whatever the experience has to offer during the game, from the "hot dog/mustard/relish" race to the Crab Shuffle to the "Guess the year" question, and especially nowadays, the in-park food. Best of all, secondary ticket prices should be had for a song if a contender isn't in town now that we're back to 100% capacity. This is similar to the Chicago Cubs for that long period between WWII and 2016 when they finally played in (and won) a World Series.
