How is biking in Druid Hill park? Are there any safety concerns? Any other suggestions on places to bike in the city are appreciated too.

I've never biked in the park, but it's a great place to walk, picnic, play...etc. It's changed a lot in the 8 years I've lived here, and especially on the weekends, it's full of people enjoying the park.

You might want to also check out the Gwynns Falls Trail.

I have biked Druid Hill many times but haven't gone the entire length of the trail yet. The biking is great but I would suggest the morning as the best time for it. I love biking along the waterfront also but be careful with pedestrians and walk it through the Inner Harbor retail area.

The section of the Jones Falls trail through the park just opened a couple of weeks ago. You can now bike from the Woodberry light rail station, through the park toward the entrance on Keswick Ave, and down Falls Road to the area around the Charles Theater. It's not a long ride, but the section through the park is nice. There are some switchbacks and hills in the area behind the zoo and frisbee golf course. A lot of people bike around the lake, too, but it gets kind of crowded with pedestrians in the evening.

Lake Montebello is another good spot for biking if you don't mind riding around in a circle.

The Gwynns Falls trail is also nice. It's a mix of nature and city. Parts of it seem kind of isolated and are in close proximity to some pretty rough areas, but I've never had a problem and have seen cops patrolling the trail.

Oh I forgot about Ft. McHenry, too -- again, if you dont mind going in a circle, its pretty and half is along the water. Just under a mile per loop.

Biking to and from Fort McHenry is a nice ride also; both along Fort or the waterfront: very enjoyable and lots of places to stop for coffee, etc.

What's the actual trail from Gwynn Falls (or druid hill) to Ft. McH?

I don't think it's marked but heard it's a nice ride and interesting....
