I will be staying in the Inner Harbor for 4 days. Any recommendations of things to do in the surrounding area?

I appreciate any recommendations you do have.

Go to Annapolis and/or St Michaels for the day (or two)

You can walk to Little Italy. Also go to Fells Point - for Restaurants/Bars (you can also walk)

Ok, so I either will get killed or I will need to travel an hour away in an Uber?

I would look at Annapolis, Ellicott City, St Michaels/Chestertown, Gettysburg/Emmitsburg. Much safer.

Fort McHenry
National Aquarium (although very pricey)
Maryland Zoo
Baltimore Museum of Art
Tour the historic boats at the Inner Harbor
B&O Railroad Museum
Horseshoe Casino
Take an Inner Harbor Cruise
Eat and shop your way through Fells Point

Well...

Inner Harbor itself is mostly empty nowaday. Lots of bums and druggies and not much else. The Aquarium is still there but that's about it.

Harbor East/Harbor Point/Little Italy to the east, and Fells Point further east are areas where you can find restaurants/bars, as is Federal Hill area to the south. Things can get iffy especially in Fells Point later at night but the area is mostly safe during the day.

One area not mentioned yet would be Mount Vernon area north of downtown, Peabody Library is worth a visit and the surrounding area is pleasant (and relatively safe).

Won't say anything else about outer areas like Annapolis...

Skip Baltimore, it's not worth the risk.

All of the above, plus:
Walters Art Gallery
American Visionary Art Museum
Baltimore Museum of Industry
Maryland Science Center
Maryland Jewish Museum

Hotel restaurants in Baltimore are pretty much the same as hotel restaurants anywhere, so for some local flavor try a few good seafood restaurants and some authentic Italian food in Little Italy.

During your stay, you should take at least one boat cruise in the harbor or out on the bay: I would take several. They used to have dinner cruises around the harbor and day cruises to Annapolis, but I don't know if they run them anymore. Your hotel should be able to tell you. The "Baltimore Harbor Cruise" and the "City Lights Cruise" run by this company are both worth taking.

If you are wondering about all of the negative posts, this city, like most big American cities, is run by a bunch of liberal idiots who do not understand that there is a crime problem. There is a BIG crime problem. Don't let that stop you from enjoying Baltimore.
