Pittsburgh is a tough one. I like it. But, given location and things to do along with activities, I would choose Baltimore. But, no offense to Pittsburgh. I think it is another highly underrated city.

Squirrel Hill kicks Federal Hill's butt!! However, Charles Village is way cooler than Oakland (Pittsburgh.)

Baltimore and the 'Burgh are two of my favorite cities. I wouldn't really consider Squirrel Hill and Federal Hill comparable, though. I think of Squirrel Hill as more like Mt. Washington (with maybe a few more bars and restaurants) and Federal Hill more like the South Side.

One big downside I see with Pittsburgh is that while the downtown looks great, not many people live there or close by. It can be like a ghost town at night or on weekends unless there's a sporting event. It's also impossible to hail a cab.

I love Boston, I think that is an amazing city. I will be moving there once I am done with Maryland(my bf is in medical school). I am orginally from MA and I love it there. I find the way people drive here is ridiculous. When it rains, it's like everyone forgot how to drive. I hear it's the same when it snows a little.

On a side note, I do enjoy that Maryland has Happy Hours as they outlawed them in Massachusetts. I also like how you can just catch a baseball game b/c the O's are not that good.

Happy hours are outlawed in Massachusetts??? There's that left wing Democratic government for you controlling every aspect of people's life.

A little tilted view on the driving bit.

Baltimore over Boston, Florida, and anyplace in New Jersey? You must be kidding!!! And hurricanes (Cat 5) in Florida are much less frequent and/or dangerous than walking into the wrong neighborhood in "Charm City". About the only thing I would agree with is the extreme cold of northern cities is something I can do without.

I was thinking about this today as I was driving through Baltimore. From what I have seen Baltimore is just about the last place I would want to live. I will take Detroit over Baltimore any day. (I'm biased though since I am from Detroit). Baltimore just plain looked awful. I've been there many times, buttoday I took extra looks as I drove from 395 to Pratt to Gay St. to Harford all the way up to somewhere near Parkside dr. I didn't look for the nice areas. That's my honest opinion. I wish it weren't so.
