Abell Ave is a nice street along all 4 of its blocks. A nice mix of younger and long-time homeowners and renters, as well as some Hopkins students. 3200 Abell is a block from the Saturday farmer's market.

Default Greater Charles Village vs. Charles Village

Some clarification. Charles Village and ‘Greater’ Charles Village denote different things.

Greater Charles Village consists of (roughly)
- Charles Village (25th-33rd, Howard to Guilford)
- Old Goucher (20th-25th, Howard to St. Paul)
- Abell (29th-33rd, Guilford to west of Greenmount)
- Harwood (25th-29th, Guilford to west of Greenmount)

Sometimes included in this are also (to the south)
- Barclay (19th-25th, St. Paul to Greenmount) [19th = North Ave.]
- upper part of Charles North (19th-25th, Howard to St. Paul)

North of 26th and the Charles to Guilford blocks are safer spots, also adding in Abell. Goucher is up and coming and has some beautiful homes. East of Greenmount things can be rough. Barclay is improving as is Greenmount West (south of Barclay). Remington, which is west of Charles Village is also developing.

Most of the home break-ins are via unlocked windows and back doors accessible to alleys. Don’t leave visible belongings in cars.

The Charles Village Community Benefits District has higher taxes but additional trash pickup and security. It covers Charles Village, Abell, Old Goucher, upper Charles North and Harwood.

Lived at the corner of 28th and Calvert for a year back in 2013. Never had any issues. Great local food, especially Eddie's Market. The block I lived on was mostly young professionals and JHU kids.

If it weren't for the nightmarish parking, I'd move back.
