hi.

I have recently moved to howard county (ellicott city) and I would like to check out baltimore. Do people typically take mass transit into baltimore or drive from howard county?

I am hoping there is an easy mass transit system as I would rather not drive into the city and park.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Unfortunately there is no easy mass transit that will take you to Baltimore. There is a commuter bus that runs frequently during rush hour from parts of Columbia to downtown Baltimore, but this only runs on weekdays, and it is $7 round trip. Driving to Baltimore from Ellicott City will only take you 20 minutes during non-rush hour times. Parking isn't really an issue if you know how to parallel park. There are electronic parking meters around all of the museums and other areas, which allow you to pay for parking using a debit or credit card - I think it is $1 an hour. There is free street parking in Fells Point, Federal Hill, and Canton if you are hanging out at night, although you may have to drive around a few blocks to find a space.

During 9-5 on weekdays, your only parking option is parking in a garage, which will run you anywhere from $5-18. Where exactly do you want to visit?
