Can a single dude who works from home with his lab enjoy life in a upscale apt in Annapolis' historic district? (apartments)

Hi everybody,

I'm in Montreal right now which is an awesome city but it's just way too cold. I've really gotten used to walking. I'm afraid that the streets might be empty of pedestrians in Annapolis. I also have a car that I would prefer be in an enclosed garage.

Also, I like to go everywhere with my lab. Is that at all workable? Most of the nicer places I've seen on C.list seem a car drive from the docks and the coffee shops, which is not really ideal.

I lived in DC for 5 years before Montreal and really liked it, but fell in love with Annapolis after a couple of weekends there. Can I live like a city person there, or am I kidding myself?

Annapolis is a great city, and yes, you can definitely live downtown. It's not cheap, however...

There aren't many apartments -- mostly single-family homes. Some of the commercial buildings along West Street do have apartments above the businesses that are at street level. My advice would be to spend a weekend in Annapolis with the purpose of finding a place -- and do it before the students at St. Johns start moving in.
