Hello all, I am writing because I recently accepted a job in Baltimore and am fairly unfamiliar with the area. Basically, I am a young professional (23 years old) and surprisingly not looking to actually live in the city of Baltimore. I grew up in a fairly rural, safe area and went to school at the University of MD, College Park. Because of my rural background, I am not interested in living in the city but am more interested in a safe suburb that still has a decent younger nightlife. So to sum up, i'm looking for a semi-younger suburb with decent bars for nightlife, a safe area, as well easy access to some shopping and other nice areas to walk around. Thank you for any information as I am not very familiar with the area!

Ellicott City, Columbia, Towson would be my first suggestions. There are some areas in Harford County, but those seem more family oriented.
