Hey all,
So I'm moving out of Baltimore in a few weeks and I'm going through all my things. I have a bunch of things to donate and I'm not sure where to take them. I have clothes and things like that I figure I'll take to a Salvation Army, but I also have a ridiculous amount of books, school supplies (pens, notebooks, binders...), unused toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc.,)... and I have no idea where I could take these items. I have a lot of stuff, so I'd rather donate it if I can rather than just toss them. Any ideas?

Here's a good option for donating books:

The Book Thing of Baltimore, Inc.

It's just off of Greenmount Ave. in Waverly.

Some shelters for homeless and battered women accept unused toiletries.

Red face free items for shelter

I have a lot of things I would like to donate to a shelter but seems no shelter in my area takes "things" only money. I am in the Beltsville, MD area if you know of anywhere around here I can drop the items off.

We have donated several boxes of books to the Enoch Pratt library. The branches will take small donations, but if you have a lot, go to the main branch. They will come out and unload them for you. Unused cosmetics, toliteries, etc can be donated to the House of Ruth. They are very thankful for anything along those lines and are a great community resource.

Default Book donations now ?

I have about 15 college text books I would like to donate. I hate giving to Goodwill because they resell. Cant seem to find any book drives right now.

I donate most books to the library; anything with larger type, I donate to the senior center. I also donate toiletries to the senior centers, home for unwed homeless mothers-to-be, and to foodbanks/churches. School supplies I donate to churches but I have also adopted a family I donate to.
