I have seen some glorious Catholic churches -- from the various Vatican sites to the gilded landmarks of Salvador do Bahia in Brazil.
Today I saw an elegant gem that totally took my breath away -- the chapel of the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville that dates back to times when that complex was a Catholic college. Here is the history and pictures that make no justice to the sanctuary:

I am no church-goer, but if you are, here are some other elegant Catholic sanctuaries in Baltimore: St. Joseph's Monastery Church in Irvington and St. Peter & St. Paul (I believe), at Poppleton and Hollins.
Of these, Charlestown's is in the best condition. It truly sparkles. They still may hold mass there -- you may check (I went there for a funeral of a non-Catholic). A picture book is on sale on the premises.
Addendum: This picture does justice to the glorious chapel
