Hey All!

I am new to Baltimore, I moved up here from Florida a few weeks ago, for a new job. I am a long time city-data member.

I have alot of questions about this city...lol, but I have two pressing questions....

Does anyone know if the Data Capture Center in Essex, MD (for the census) is still hiring for the data entry/processing positions? And if they are how in the world do I apply?

I am trying to get my daughter into a Catholic school here in Baltimore City, does anyone know how I can get her baptized? I know it sounds crazy but dont I have to be a member of a church (in the long term) in order to get her baptized? She has to have a Baptismal certificate in order to enroll at any catholic school. ( For the 2010-2011 school year)

Thanks so much!

You need to contact a local Catholic parish in order to get yourself (or someone else) baptized. The process is not an instant one, expect it to take several months of classes. It may be a shorter process if your daughter is a member of a church that has similar beliefs and rituals, like Episcopalians or Orthodox.

A word of advice, don't get your daughter baptized just to enroll her in school. Entry into the Catholic faith is not something to be taken lightly and should be done for faith based, not utilitarian reasons.

She dosent necessarily have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic School. She is a good student, and the schools in Baltimore city aren't the best. I appreciate the advice, but were not converting.

I don't believe the data capture center is hiring anymore. You had to apply like 6 months ago.

How are you a 'reverse transplant'?

If your daughter doesn't have to be Catholic to attend Catholic school then why get her baptized Catholic?

Have you tried calling the Data Capture Center?

Because while most people are migrating North to South, I did the opposite. It was just a joke.....

Im not trying to get her baptized Catholic, I am needing to get her baptized period, so she can go to Catholic school.

No, I read a thread on here awhile ago about the Data Capture Center, but I cant seem to locate it now.
