Lobster Roll in Bangor (Kittery, Brewer: cost, food, land)

I had my 1st lobster roll in Bangor (my 2nd lobster roll ever) at Giocomo on Main Street last Friday. It was soooo good!

Where else should I go to get good lobsters or lobster rolls? How many other ways can you cook lobsters?

Has anyone been to the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, ME?

Go anywhere along the coast from Kittery to Eastport. Best clams (IMHO & DWs) are at the dock in Castine near the State of Maine. Speaking of which, 'bout time to make a trip down.

Agreed on Capt Nicks. Good food all around. Never tried or heard of Bagaduce. Might just try it. A break from tradition.

Eagles Nest in Brewer is also a good choice. Small hole in the wall and off the beaten track but the lobster overflows the roll. Support your local greasy spoon.

Block and Tackle in Cundy's Harbor has excellent lobster rolls packed with fresh lobster meat! Try their onion rings too but do not get the large order unless you have at least four helpers to eat them!
Harraseekett Lunch in South Freeport has a good lobster roll as does Day's Crabmeat in Yarmouth.
For a real treat try the lobster stew and a big blueberry muffin at the Dolphin Marina in Harpswell. It's the best lobster stew I've ever found .....so far!
Make your own! Lobster meat is down to around $24.00 a pound. Pan grill some buttered Nissen Frankfurter rolls (not hotdog rolls!) to toast them lightly, smear in a little Hellman's mayonnaise, pack it full of lobster tail, knuckle, and claw meat and sprinkle a dash of paprika on the top (optional).
It's hard to find a BAD lobster roll as lobster rolls are about the simplest sandwich you can make. Some places put lettuce in them ....most places don't. Most places use real mayonnaise though some use Miracle Whip. Simpler the better. I have seen some questionable ones in the past though. Lobster salad with chopped pickle and onion at one place. They got that one back. Same place put celery in the fish chowder....a real no no! They got that back too. I guess that's what happens when you hire cooks from away.
I actually prefer a good crabmeat roll over a lobster roll.

Phil's Corner, on the corner (of course) of Main St and Route 1 in Rockland. At 1 AM in morning their lobster rolls and onion rings were somthin else. That was a few years ago though and doubt if Phil is still there.

I went to Captain Nick's on Tuesday night and the lobster roll cost $14 -- a little too expensive for me. So I didn't get it.

Someone told me there is a great 2-lobsters-for-$20 deal on Thursdays at a place in Brewer but he can't remember the name of it. Has anyone else heard of the place?
