I looked at this thread again, and I say thanks. I will need to buy some furniture, and I wont' exactly be flush with cash. I didn't know much about the area, and I tended to look toward Calais. I guess it is the airline road to Bangor to save some $$$ on furniture. Thanks!!!!!!!

There is sams in Bangor off exit 187 near the mall. They also have the best prices for gasoline. Some of their food prices are good, some are not.

Mardens in Brewer.

I have never been to tuffy bear, nor to Dorsey though I have heard the ad for Dorsey on the radio.

We are here now and I'm wondering if there are any "primitive, country" stores in the Bangor area? You know the stores that women love and guys hate with all the rustic furniture, candles, wooden signs, etc.
I found one in the airport mall off union, but they don't have many black iron decorations.
Does anyone know where there are more country stores like this?
Thanks!

They make furniture and market it up in Smyrna, that is very 'rustic - primitive'.

Forest, are you referring to the Amish store up in Smyrna? We drive right by the Amish store whenever we head out to my family's camp but have never stopped in although have heard really good things about their work. My dad is a hard person to impress but he swears by their work and fair prices.

I meant their furniture store, it is a ways down the road from the General store.
