I'm asking because where we're moving from has an great furniture store close by where we've bought quality furniture for excellent discounts.

Any stores with great prices (inexpensive) for good furniture in Bangor ?

We've also gotten some good deals at Costco and Sams club.

Anyone who's bought or looked for new furniture lately please clue me in.

Right now it's going to mean the difference between selling off our furniture this week or moving it with us.

Thanks a bunch!

There is also a Sam's Club in Bangor. I haven't been to that particular Sam's Club, but I think it is up near the mall.

Yup, the ads are cute.....

We got an 8 foot dining room table, extra chairs, and 6 tall chairs from them. Couldn't even find anything reasonably close in price anywhere.

I am wondering about the same thing move vs replace; estimates for our stuff runs upwards of $5 to $6000. And then we have the issue of not yet having our house to move it to. If the new house is occupied and they cant skiddaddle we could have a mess.

The Buddha was right that suffering is caused by attatchement and grasping; but but but....I divested myself of almost everything 5 years ago.......

We know what you are talking about. We are facing some of the same issues, a major downsize and even deciding what to bring until we permanently move is a big ?? From what I can see, it is cheaper to buy the large items, and just move the smaller ones.

We got rid of most of our big stuff when we left Maine for WI, and the moving bill came in at just a smidge over $2000. Boxes, boxes, boxes and more boxes of Christmas decorations that we couldn't bear to part with. We bought a new sofa, mattress & boxspring, dining set, etc when we got out here. Now, of course, we will be paying to move it all back because we haven't had them long enough to justify selling. We'd lose money.

Oops, strayed completely off topic there didn't I?

Is Dorsey's still in Holden?? Sometimes they have good sales, but you really have to know your prices.
