hey i just want to know if there are low bush blueberries in etna.......going to look at land there on the 10th of april..........

Its doubtful. This is not the blueberry barrens like it is down east. That does not mean you cannot grow some though.

I was at a county agricultural meeting last week and the topic of blueberry growing was brought up. I have a few acres that are untillable due to ledge rock and it dawned on me at that meeting that I could actually cultivate some. It would never be a commercial operation, and it would not be as great as the wild Maine blueberries but it would make some unproductive farmland semi-productive. Since Etna is a scant few miles from me, you could probably do it as well.

When are the blueberries ready to pick I'll be back for the lobster fest in rockland, I hope there ripe then!

Usually late July through beginning of Sept....but you can always buy frozen ones year round here! They are great too...as long as they are native Maine ones...anything else is just purple moosh!
