That I attended: I would have to say my biggest thrill was being in attendance for the 1998 Yankees Game 4 clinching World Series Game in San Diego (actually sat a row in front of Tom Cruise)....that edges out the Ron Guidry game in which he struck out 18 Angels 20 years earlier and was the beginning of fans standing up with 2 strikes.

My new most memorable game...2 days ago...

Monday October 9th, 2023...Braves vs. Phils in ATL, in NL playoff game #2 in a best of 5 set w/ Braves down 0-1 in games.

Game 2 is a must win for my Braves...but oh no...

...Braves down 0-3 after 5 innings, & Braves have no hits, no walks, 1 only baserunner (reached on error), who was stranded.

Then in the 6th the Braves eke out 1 run, then get a 2-run homer's in the 7th, & 8th, to win the game 5-4 after getting the last 2 outs in the 9th via a really weird double play from Center field to 1st base doubling off Bryce Harper at first.

My Son & I will never forget that game. The 42,000 Atlanta fans went wild in the stadium, & then it flowed out into the Battery Park surrounding the stadium for hours.

For me it was not so much the outcome or play of the games, but the one that sticks in my mind forever was Randy Johnson pitching for the Mariners, hitting a Pidgeon with a 100 mph fastball, and causing an explosion of feathers.

Today is the anniversary of the greatest home run ever hit and probably the greatest moment in sports history. The year was 1960 when the heavily favored NY Yankees watched Bill Mazeroski`s walk-off home run sail over Yogi Berra`s head in game 7 of the World Series. Every time Yogi saw Maz he told him that it barely cleared the wall. Maz told Yogi it cleared by 50 ft.

I think tonight’s Astros-Rangers ALCS will be pretty notable—
Having the manager ejected for arguing about a relief pitcher thrown out for hitting a batter doesn’t usually happen in post-season play

In Phoenix (2007, IIRC), I saw (in person) Randy Johnson and Julio Franco break their own record of the oldest combined age of a pitcher and batter involved in a home run.

2003 ALCS Game 7 Yankees vs Red Sox

Aaron Boone hits a towering HR to LF off of Tim Wakefield (RIP) to send the Yankees to the World Series.

Til this day Aaron Boone can do no wrong in my eyes.

Imagine watching a game where the home plate umpire starts calling strikes when there isn't even a batter in the box, then 2 batters get in the box and start swinging. Ends in a brawl.
