Now its no secret the 2011 Mets are probably gonna turn out to be....ONE OF THE GREATEST TEAMS IN BASEBALL HISTORY but lets be honest is there another team that can even challenge them??? I THINK NOT!!!

Phillies- Everyone knows that without that bandbox they call a stadium the team would be horrible but their luck will run out this week against the big red machine plus their manager has a history of heart problems so he'll probably be PERMANENTLY gone by Feburary.

Braves- Lets be honest the only reason this team is any good this year is cause their ancient artifact BOBBY Cox is coaching his Final Year but fear not after they lose to the giants they'll be back to the horrendos team we all know they are

Nationals- Besides Adam Dunn hitting 40 home runs dont expect anything from this team except failure and disapointment

Marlins- Lol a Marlin is a kinda fish

Hmm...I didn't see the phrase "at choking" inserted between "one of the greatest teams" and "in baseball history". It's alright, I occasionally forget to insert words when I post stuff on internet message boards too.

One thing I don't like about the Mets, not because I'm a Phillies fan but because I like seeing teams, to quote basketball coach Larry Brown, "play the right way", is how the top players on that team are either more interested in attracting attention to themselves or whining about things than going out there and focused on winning baseball games. Jose Reyes, who I think is a good to very good player even though I don't much care for him, often does dances or other nonsense that gets the other team more focused on performing well against the Mets, rather than focusing on making sure his own team plays well. David Wright, who despite his struggles the last couple of years is a great player and could play on my team anytime, sometimes gets a little whiny about things (like getting hit in a late season Phillies-Mets game this year) rather than just letting his bat do the talking and making the opponent pay. Mind you, I think the Mets have a semi-messed up roster - not enough good players and too many overpaid, old players and not good enough young players - and that makes it tougher for the good players the Mets do have.

Sports Illustrated predicts 2009 World Series crown for Mets
Didn't you listen when you were a kid and they told you to SAY NO TO DRUGS??!!

My take on the Mets? They just might be the biggest trainwreck in baseball....not a ton of talent, but a high payroll. There's a very good chance the Nats pass them off in 2011. At this point, the Mets have about as good of a chance to get to the World Series as the Pirates.

It's not the truth because the Phillies seem to have no problem winning away from CBP.

Some of my fellow Phillies fans need to grow thicker skin and make fun of inane comments like the ones KRS88 made rather than getting all whiny about them.

And to prove just how inane they were, take a look at the phenomenal response this thread has generated. (Commentary provided by your friendly local Mets fan, whose thoughts on the OP's posting are being kept under wraps due to concerns about disciplinary action by the moderators).

Ageed the Mets organization is a trainwreck-----they simply need to blow up the building and start from scratch.

It was a good start with Manuel and Minaya----now comes cleaning house on the team. Its time for the underproducing and oft injured players to leave. I dont know if anybody is untouchable---David Wright comes to mind as their best asset, but if they get a fine return on him, even he can be dealt.

Its time to say goodbye to the Beltrans, the Reyes, the Bays, the Castillos ect......the problem being the Mets have burdened themselves with awful contracts and these underproducers will be difficult to trade-----good luck to their next GM---he has a daunting job ahead of him.

As to our friend who predicts the Mets will be the best team in mlb history in 2011----good night and sleep tight.
