Is there any plans on expanding the first round playoff series to 7 games? I mean since there is only two rounds before the championship why not expand the first round series? I mean shouldn't the Yankees or Phillies EARN a trip to the WS rather than playing in a best 3 out of 5?

David Stern made it tougher for winning teams in the NBA so why can't Bud selig?

You are so odd

I haven't heard of any plans to extend the first round to 7 games. Have you?

I, personally, would be against it. The season already extends to nearly November. Adding two more games would just make it worse. They aren't going to make the regular season shorter. They aren't going to start the season sooner. Status quo is just fine.

As for the 'earn' thing. Quit trolling.

You wants to see the same two teams in the WS every year? And isn't obvious they are there because they are not being challenged?

the good teams should have to carry a bucket of water or have to jump over some hurdles as they race around the bases.

Better teams have a HIGHER chance of winning the more games that are played.

It'd be a bigger challenge if each series were a 1 game series

So your brilliant idea to make it harder for the Yankees is that they should have to beat the Twins one more time while the Twins have to beat the Yankees four more times?

Why? Any reason other than you were bored today and needed to throw out an asinine suggestion just to get some replies?

If your goal is to make the playoffs harder for the better teams, lengthening the playoff series will do the opposite.

Also, see my first post about adding to the length of the season.
