Honestly, Ortiz's grand slam was very lucky.....as in lucky the guy didn't catch it! Without it they would be 0-2 now. It wasn't like it was hit 15 rows back into the stands
Doesn't matter, it still went over the wall and Detroit's bullpen fell apart and blew the game. Since we're talking about luck, Detroit is lucky Hunter did not hurt himself flying over the wall.

My kind of baseball last night.

Hard hitting plays at the plate and some great fielding. That Iglesias kid for Detroit was outstanding.

Hoping that Alex Avila is OK from that blow to the head.

Back to Boston now to wrap this thing up......

Sox lose the opener against Tampa Bay in Fenway 10-5 in a four game series. I am very interested to see how well they will do now that Big Papi is retired.

Just 4 homers so far this season for the Red Sox. I can see Ortiz rejoining the team later this summer to save the day.

Ortiz is retired..... Focus on the tired part.

Betts had 2 HRs in a game over the weekend, Ramirez had one, Moreland had one..... 4 this weekend alone. They will be fine, Benditendi went 5 for 5 Sunday!

I hope this board becomes more active, love to talk Red Sox anywhere, anytime.

Obviously they miss Big Pappi but the heart of the order can still hit home runs. I'm not too worried, they'll start to score soon. I am however not as confident in Steven Wright. This can't continue.
