Remember when the Red Sox were 2 - 10 and people were calling for Francona's head?

Since then the Red Sox are 42 - 18, under Francona.

You need to change the manager only if the manager is the problem.

The Marlins jokes have started.

Did you know the Marlins have applied for admission to the Pacific Coast League?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Do you think MLB will ever place a franchise in Orlando?"

"Nah. If Orlando gets a big league club, Miami will be wanting one too."

Don't be too hard on TVSG. His threads are fun, since he sets himself up so well for everything that follows his original postings.

The Marlins screwed up and won tonight, taking down the Angels 5-2. This means that the worst they can be for June is 2-26, .071 ball, so they no longer have a shot at the worst month of all time. If they drop the seven remaining games, they will have secured the # 3 slot.

McKeon is 80 and has the ability to get the Fish back on track.

Well, it was certainly interesting the way he sat Henley Ramirez down in his first game, for having been late to a team meeting. I'm sure that McKeon can impose more discipline on the Marlins than practically anyone else.

Yeah - that was one of his hallmarks the first time through, that he was tough on the guys but did it without completey turning them off .... he'll have his hands full as there really isn't any respected veteran presence on that team

was funny last night he was talking about how it's fitting they picked up a win on the first day of summer ... because this is a summer team, not so much a spring team, but summer is where they'll shine

he then carried forth his name game and called hanley "cabrera" before lamenting that he really wishes that he still had cabrera

will be really interesting how he walks the dynamic with this team
