Hmmmm. I get the sense that Riggleman let this winning streak go to his head. After a prolonged period of poor play, the Nationals finally manage to put together a winning streak, and Riggleman decides that this is sufficient to give him contract leverage.

So, he gambled on a power move and apparently it backfired on him. He forced the issue by making it a "..what I want or I walk" situation....and the Nats chose not to be bullied.

Often when you take a gamble you lose. I wonder if any other teams are going to ever hire him after that little trick?

That streak of 11-12 would have been only 8-12 if they hadn't been lucky enough to be playing the Mariners during the down side of their seesaw season.

I hope he didn't do that and they hadn't made the MADE the playoffs yet. If so then he is a IDIOT

This may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone knows the future as well as you do. You know more about what's going to happen than anyone else I've ever run into. (You're right less often than everyone else too, but that's for a different thread).

well only a fool would ask for a raise and the season is still in progress and no where near the postseason
