I think overall the most liked baseball team is the St. Louis Cardinals. I think St. Louis is a true baseball town. The Cardinals are usually good and who doesn't like Albert Pujols? Here would be my list of the most liked teams:
1. Cardinals
2. Rockies
3. Rangers
4. Twins
5. Phillies
Please i don't want any arguments on why you hate these teams, my opinion on which teams I think are overall the most liked.
I think the Yankees are so liked (and good) that they're so hated.

Most liked by whom? I don't know many Rockies, Ranger, or Twins fans; and the only Cardinal fans I know of live in St. Louis and Evansville, IN.
I cannot disagree with your #1 and #2, but I am biased
One thing the two clubs have in common is long distance fanbases. I don't think the Cardinals broadcast their games on KMOX anymore, but when they did I could pick up their games clear to Denver. With the Rockies, KOA has a similar reach as it is a 50,000 watt station.
I think there is an historical basis for the Cardinals being so popular. Until the 1960s, they were the only team west and south of Chicago (the Browns didn't count), and as radio became available for fans to listen to games, the Cardinals had about a 10-state area all to themselves, with Harry Caray pitching the Cardinals on a powerful station with lots of affiliates. Even all of Texas was Cardinal Country, until the Colt 45s came to Houston.
The whole country, from Mississippi and Iowa to the Rockies, were raised by fathers and grandfathers towhom Cardinal baseball was a religion, and you were a Cardinal fan as surely as you were a Christian. And the Cardinals, from the 20s through the 40s, had a lot more southern players than most other teams. And won a lot of World Series (second only to the Yankees) to attract a large base of admirers. They've been under the same ownership for almost 60 years, which, whether you like the owners or not, has done little to embarrass the team and has marketed them well.
