Kendrys has historic sixth inning in Arlington | MLB.com: News

Whats weird for me is I remember watching the game the last time this happened. It was nice to read the immortal Mark Bellhorns name in print again.

Yankees are 3-4 since acquiring Ichiro.

The Mariners are 6-2 since jettisoning him, and are winning 4-1 in the 7th tonight.

The A's win a 15-inning churner against the Rays on a sac-fly from Jemile Weeks, who finished the night 0-7.

My abacus, lap top and graphing calculator are here at Yankee stadium.

Yankees are up 11-3

Joba made his return. Gave up a home run to the first batter he faces. And was generally unimpressive. Lots of hard hit balls and 2 runs in 1 and 2/3 innings

Ichiro also made a pretty good catch.

No problem it has gotten larger.

Yankees now 4-5 with Ichiro.

The sans Ichiro Mariners are 7-2 and on a season best six game winning streak.

As expected, Derek Lowe is now out of the Indians rotation, and has been designated for assignment to the minors by the team:

Lowe (8-10, 5.52) lost his last four starts. He opened the season at 6-1, but went 2-8 with a 8.28 ERA in his last 13 outings. In the second half last season with Atlanta, Lowe went 4-10 with a 6.20 ERA.

Jayson Werth back from the DL

He should provide an immediate boost as Nats leftfielders have hit just .295/.348 on the season

Werth is capable of playing all 3 OF positions, and he may see time in either center or right, but guys like Steve Lombardozi (20% worse than an average hitter) won't be starting in the OF anymore.

Of course, he starts against Philadelphia
