You nailed it....Mets now in 3rd place, 3.5 games out, & the next 9 games are vs. Giants and Dodgers.

The Mets will be under .500, and out of the race by the 27th of August.

The Mets need new leadership.

Article in Bloomberg today about how the team owner, Steve Cohen, is tweeting negative comments about the team.

Here's one of his comments: "It’s hard to understand how professional hitters can be this unproductive. The best teams have a more disciplined approach. The slugging and OPS numbers don’t lie."

I wonder how the players feel after being dissed by the team owner; how motivated are they after taking that shot in the ear.

FYI: Cohen is worth about $11B and paid about $2.5B for the team, beating out bids from A-Rod and others.

So a guy who never played pro ball is going to make that kind of comment.

This is when you're supposed to just shut up and talk to your front office privately about why things are going wrong.

Mr. Cohen seems the sort manager who rules under the concept of "The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves."

I feel sorry for Mets pitchers. The lack of run support is wearing them out. I doubt that Stroman will sign with the Mets at the end of the season.

I also doubt it. The team is abysmal. Alonso, Stroman, JD when healthy, Lupo (brightest arm in pen), Diaz, Nimmo, and 19 players to be named later.

Season is over. 1 vital issue sticks. Baez thumbs down to fans should result in Cohen winning city back, by ordering him waived immediately after 9/1. Makes him ineligible to be picked up for playoff purposes by anyone. Sends a great message.

Plus issue 1 week suspensions to Lindor and Pillar during team meeting, bring Lee up for meeting, introduce as Pillar's replacement.

Bring Backman to meeting. Introduce as Rojas replacement.

Then ask the rest if they have any questions regarding expectations on their behavior on and off the field.

I still think picking up Bryant would've been so much better. Doesn't strike out as much, and can literally play 6 or 7 positions on the field.

Also sends a message to future potential free agents not to sign there and hurts team morale. Bad idea.
Bench him a couple days and move on after the season.
