Can’t believe Mets recently lost all three games against the garbage Cardinals and then lost yesterday against the Phillies. The Mets have become such an embarrassment to the MLB and I am ashamed to be fan of theirs!

Those "garbage" Cardinals are on a 7 game winning streak, 9-1 in the last 10, lead the second Wildcard by 2 games, and are 7 games better than the Mets currently. If the Cardinals are in your words "garbage", what does that make the Mets??

At least Bob only has 13 more games left of watching Luis Rojas in the dugout! As a fan of a rival team in the division, the selfish part of me wants the Mets to retain him, so he can continue to fumble the ball down the road, but even I know Uncle Steve isn't that stupid to keep him beyond this year.

I hope he isn't, but some reports indicate Alderson wants Rojas back.

He has been a train wreck. I do not think he will ever be a solid manager, at any time, even decades from now.

I want Beane as the GM/Head of Operations (or whatever Alderson is), and I want Backman to manage. I want a small ball intelligent manager.

Pure filth!

Actually, their standings weren’t that good a week ago. You can thank the Mets for helping them bump up to the Wild Card spot.

This is why following sports is tough for me. I love watching sports but I would like to see some competitiveness. The Mets just suck and that goes for every other NY sports team, whether it be the Knicks, Jets, etc…

Just finished episode 4 of "30 for 30." Cashen breaking up the team at the end. Literally in tears. Anyone else?

The beginning of the end of the 86 Mets was Doubleday exiting, instead of Wilpon.

Mets fans have been pining for Backman for what seems like a decade now. Doubt it happens at this point.
Brian Cashman might become available for the GM opening. He would retain his Darien residence.

The 86 Mets were not that good but NYC is a big market and the hype sells. This year's Dodgers have more future Hall of Famers. Was 86 the year - the Mets only won because of that 1st baseman's error?

Today's Mets are horrible chokers. They wouldn't win many games at all if they didn't get to feast on the Nats and Miami in their division. Nevertheless watch them finish under .500

All in all NYC got screwed by having the Mets replace the Dodgers. Since then the Dodgers have a better record - better record head to head- more league titles- better attendance - and Dodger Stadium is an icon-- how many stadiums have the Met's had since their inception? 3 ?

?
False. 1986 Mets won 108 games, 12 more than 2nd best in MLB. They also had DJ mismanage 9th inning, as Mets had winning run 2nd, 0 outs, and allowed Ho Jo who cannot bunt to bat, with Elster on the bench who could. There should not have been a tenth inning.

The club was loaded. 4 starters won 15 or more; 6 pitchers won 10 or more. 3 starters ERAs 2.84 or less.

Run Differential +205.
