Loney is making Duda look like Keith Hernandez at first, when Comforto gets his swing straightened out, I'd move him to first, with either Nimmo or Lagares when healthy, paired with Grandy & Cespedes.

Lenny Dykstra was on The Howard Stern Show today. If you have Sirius, I highly recommend checking it out. Crazy stories and some funny stuff about his time with the Mets. Odds are it will surface on YouTube in the not too distant future.

He was promoting his new book House of Nails.

Nice sweep of the Cubs. I expect the same formula that is Mets fans have suffered this season, win, win, win against teams, then get swept by Washington

There was an Op-Ed in yesterdays NY Daily News calling for the retirement of David Wright. They mentioned his age, 33, as if it were too old, and his physical condition. He does have problems. I give him lots of credit for the effort he goes to in order to keep in top shape and his dedication to his team. I believe it's too soon to call for his retirement, in fact it should be entirely up to him. News media pressure just adds to his stress. I wonder what other's opinions are on this.

The problem the Mets have is that he can't played 3rd anymore, but they really have no other viable options. First base, the most logical choice to move him is occupied, and since the Mets are in the NL, no DH spot to put him in. The Nats had the same problem with Ryan Zimmerman and his shoulder problems, luckily when that happened we had a first basemen playing in the final year of his contract (Adam LaRoche in 2014) so the move to first for the 2015 season was a logical choice. And even with Wright the face of the Mets with his age & health concerns I don't think you can trade Duda just to give Wright a spot on the field. Maybe try LF next year like the Nats did with Zimmerman in the middle of the 2014 season??

Wright is in the third year of a steady decline since turning 30. He is now a negative WAR player on both offense and defense. The problem of course is that he is signed through 2020 and is owed 67 million for those years.

Wright has already been paid more than 100 million dollars in his career, but is he the sort who would walk away from another 67 million?

Maybe the Mets could try and embarrass him into retiring. Continue to pay him the full salary, but demote him to AA roster.

I'd transition him to front office, coaching, or P/R.
