Rays fans, what are ya'll hearing about the draft? Who do you think Tampa Bay is leaning towards taking? My Braves pick right after the Rays and I have little doubt that who the Rays pick (or don't pick) will have a major impact on who the Braves go with.
Baseball America's latest mock draft has the Rays taking Louisville 1B/LHP Brendan McKay, after the Twins takes Vanderbilt RHP Kyle Wright, the Reds California prep RHP Hunter Greene, the Padres N.C. prep LHP MacKenzie Gore. ... MLB.com has the same order, but then an update saying the Twins could take McKay, which would shuffle plenty. ... ESPN and CBSSports.com also have the Rays taking McKay.
My team's total salary is 1/3 of the NYY and they're only 2.5 gb......all the other teams in the Rays' division are in the top ten salary (Blue Jays, Red Sox, Orioles). Rays are second to last in the ENTIRE LEAGUE.
If return on investment (games won/salary)........Rays would be best team in the American League, no?
