^^^ Thought they did really well with that one. And they should be grateful that he resurfaced after he turned down the Pirates to go back for one more year at Stanford. He'll be an ace in the making.
We may be losing but at least the starting pitching is often lasting more than a couple innings now.
If there's anything encouraging right now, Oildog, we can certainly point to that. Harrell and Keuchel have certainly thrown well. We're not getting blown out in these losses. But our offense does need to pick things up a bit, especially in the early innings when it's important to get a leg up.
Astros had a great win last night at home, 10-1, over Milwaukee. They've now won 12 of their last 21. Matt Dominguez clobbered a grand slam and had five RBI in the contest.
Also, the big news: It's become official. Here's the link.
Yeah, Appel will turn out to be a good choice. He's opened some eyes at Stanford and had a lot of success. I can see him in the bigs in two years or less.
Those guys really have it going on now, compared to what they did at this time last year.
Look forward to seeing Carlos Pena - lots of strike outs, but good guy, good fielder. Wish he could hit for better avg while in TB.
