They are having a good weekend, although winning a game up 9-0 after 7, 9-6, well, yes bullpen horror show is still alive and well.

Will Rendon be joining Harper in Philly for the stretch drive of 2019? That's an intriguing possibility.

Default 22-32

22-32?? I think.

Time to close up shop and head out for the summer. 10 games under .500 and 9.5 back in the division on Memorial Day, on a day where you look at historicals from past season, about 60% of teams NOT in a playoff spot on Memorial day end up missing the playoffs, and god forbid you are 10 games under .500 and 9.5 back in the division with I think 7 or 8 back in the Wildcard. So yah...it actually was nice to have my AAU weekend and not get the Nats results. Trade Rendon & Doolittle, see what you can get back for Scherzer if it's worth dealing him (ANOTHER game he allowed 3 runs or less and failed to win. I actually think he has double the amount of RBI's batting then he has wins), is about all worth watching this year. I'm going to focus my attention to Ontario for the rest of the year: Raptors in their first NBA finals in franchise history, and the Jays have started the HOF son's youth movement (Vlad Guerrero Jr and Cavan Biggio up, Bo Bichette probably up later once he returns from a broken wrist)

I do agree 2019 Nats are likely cooked, not simply due to the record, but due to a root cause (horrific pen) w/o easy ways to trade for help which would be likely to work fast enough. Mets & Nats are scoring too little. Offset must be above average pitching to give either a shot. I am not happy with Mets 2019, but between the 2, I like Mets odds of a good one month run more than Nats, as starters on Mets IMO have a far better probability of an far above average month (Low ERA) much more so than Nats pen can.

1/3rd season done. Nats would need to go 68-40, about .630 to win 90 games in 2019.

Default 28-34

They had won I think 9 of 11 before blowing a 4-0 first inning lead to the Padres last night. And despite that good stretch they STILL have the 3rd worst record in the NL. Luckily the Raptors are 48 minutes away from the NBA title.

Nationals are overwith. Phillies run a way with the NL East.

NL east, except for Fish, is wide open. Every team has strengths and significant flaws.

They have 11 straight home games against 3 teams they are chasing in the standings (D'Backs [4], Phillies [4], and Braves [3]), both in the division and the Wildcard. I was in a very generous mood today, so I said they had to go at least 6-5 in these 11 games, but probably more likely 8-3 or 9-2. If they can't get to at least 6 wins they got to put up the "for sale" sign, and get a head start on the trading action before it heats up, maximize potential returns. Maybe instead of getting a top 50 prospect and 2 A ball players for Rendon trading him on July 29, maybe trading him on June 29 giving the acquiring team an extra 4 weeks, maybe they turn those 2 A ball prospects into another top 50 and a top 75 prospect instead??

This team stinks! They’ll probably split with Philly and lose 2 of 3 to Atlanta to be done for the season. Atlanta, especially once Keuchel comes into the rotation clearly looks like the team to beat now I think they are about to go on a run.

Why do I see you playing a triple header in Philly in September? Mother Nature is sure messing up lots of schedules.
