If the Giants win it again next year, then it will definitely be considered a dynasty. I've never heard the term used on any teams who win fewer than three championships in a short time span. The only true dyansties in baseball so far have been from the Yankees, Athletics & Red Sox. The Yankees' most recent dynasty is the most impressive, due to the increased difficulty of teams to make it back to the World Series on a regular basis with expanded playoffs.
Not so. The Braves were certainly a Dynasty, and won only one championship. They went 15 years without ever losing more games than the Cardinals and Tigers did this year. Probably the second most dynastic run in the history of baseball, save for the Yankees.
To emphasize that winning multple WS in a short period of time is not an indicator of "dynasty". Sorry I didn't make that more clear to you.

The Braves had at most a divisional dynasty.

If the Braves can be considered a dynasty for winning a string of division titles but only 1 World Series, the term dynasty seems to have been downgraded from its historic definition. If we follow this trend to its logical conclusion we may consider the Pirates a losing dynasty.
I'm having baseball withdrawal syndrome. Could've used a 7-game series. Darn.

I would have liked to see the Giants clinch at home, even if that meant reducing their chances to needing to win one of two rather than one of four. A little drama would not have hurt.
Giants can't catch a celebration break. They clinched five of the six post season series on the road in "10 and '12, and the one they did clinch at home was in a pounding rain. The announcers kept saying "These fans don't care, they are just thrilled to see their Giants....etc. Well, of course they cared, who doesn't care about a cold, heavy rain cascading upon yourself? The Giants were ahead 9-0 in that wet ninth inning, so there was no suspense. The only reason to stick around was to cheer the team and watch the on field celebration....which was cut way short because of the rain.
Their victory parade through the city is scheduled for tomorrow...70% chance of rain according to the weather forecast.
2012's done. Season's over. Giants are no longer champs.
Cardinals are the champs in 2013. All you need to know. Why even play the season?
I don't know, they quit in the NLCS didn't they...hard to cheer for them, when they quit. Gonna go with the Beards by the Bay in 2013 again.
