2013 PECOTA projections have the Dodgers winning the most games in the regular season. I wish I, as a Dodger fan, were as optimistic.

Also, full ZiPS projections are also available

Say filihok...

I read in a magazine that the Reds were contemplating moving the newly acquired Shin-Soo Choo from rightfield to centerfield.

Looking at his metrics, it doesn't seem like he was very good as a rightfielder and he was especially bad last season.

Is this the ultimate Dusty 'Don't Need No Fancy Numbers' Baker move, or am I misinterpreting something?

That's the rumor.

The Reds' OF looks to be Ryan Ludwick, Shin-Soo Choo and Jay Bruce. None of those guys look to be a good fit for CF.

Choo -2 UZR/150 in 5600 defensive innings in the OF, mostly in RF
Ludwick +2 UZR/150 in 6700 defensive innings in the OF, mostly in RF
Bruce +4 UZR/150 in 5600 defensive innings in the OF, mostly in RF

A bunch of average corner OFers doesn't suggest a good defensive CFer.

Bruce is a +17 career in the range portion of UZR compared to -14 for Choo and +4 for Ludwick.

Bruce rated a +5 in Tom Tango's Fan Scouting Report
Choo was +2 and
Ludwick was -2

Bruce is also the youngest and players (generally) peak defensively at about 23 years of age.

Seems Bruce would be the best of a bad lot for CF
