Anthony Gose, Jays prospect, steals home...

Something else you don't see every day, 'Topes pitcher Blake Johnson hitting an inside the park home run. You'll see the diving attempt by Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras. Taveras is considered 1B to Jurickson Profar's 1A rating of top prospects. I saw all 4 games between the Red Birds and the 'Topes and was not impressed with Taveras' defense. Besides that play he took terrible routes on two other balls hit to him.

I've wanted to catch a Fargo Redhawks games, but I've never been in town when they've been playing. I do like independent leagues though, and hope they continue to thrive and survive. MLB has too much control over the MiLB.

16-year-told Julio Urias makes his second start of the season for the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers A).

He faced 11 hitters in his last outing and struck out 6 of them while walking 1 and giving up 2 hits.

Yay minor league baseball!

Interesting series of events last night.

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and Stockton Ports were rained out on opening night meaning a double header yesterday.
In the first game the Quakes were no hit through 6 1/3 innings of their 7 inning game.

In the second game the Quakes did no-hit the Ports. Mitchell White (one of LA's top prospects) went 4 innings allowing just 3 walks while striking out 5. Then Alex Hermeling finished with 3 no hit innings.
