As for my beloved Dodgers, please don't everyone blame the manager. I blame the players as much. Another year, probably the best or close to best baseball teams in the world and again the froze. Can't blame Roberts when pitchers like Kershaw freeze every year. OK, he isn't what he used to be, but still, he is the one to blame if you have to blame anyone. But, as far as I am concerned the entire team forgot to show up when it came to playoff time.
Blame should go around to several people.

Certain hitters who just didn't hit at all. I.e. Pollock & Seager
Kershaw failed to get the job done however I don't think he should've been in the game after he struck out Eaton. Rendon is a good hitter & you let a lefty face him who has a history of post season struggles.

Roberts needs to take some of the blame for allowing Kershaw to be in the game at that point. Also for allowing Kelly to stay in the game after he put a man on base in the 10th. I agree with letting him go out fo the 10th after that great 9th. But he's not the type of reliever to go 2 innings and you still had Uras, Baez you could've brought in.

I'm a casual baseball follower who likes tge Dodgers.

Iircc,

Roberts left Darvish in way too long in the game 7 of tbe World Series a couple years ago. They lost.

My friends thinks Roberts should be and will be fired.

What do you guys think?

For game 7 Darvish..

1 of the runs in the first was from an error. So 2-0 in first inning. Then in the 2nd inning He walked the first batter then gave up a 2b. I guess you could say he should've been pulled after that but he did get 2 ground outs in the next 2 at bats. It was the home run (2 run HR) that followed that got him pulled.

Looking back Alex Wood probably should've started the game but who would have really thought Darvish would have horrible back to back appearances like this?

Dodgers still couldn't score any runs (1) during the game so after giving up 2 runs it was over.

I also do think that front office probably wanted Darvish to start game 7 so can't fault Roberts for that. We will probably never know.

David Freese retired today. Pretty much expected here. Wish we saw him get more at bats this past series. I agree with a lot of decisions that go on. But seeing him not start was pretty frustrating and can only wonder how things might have been different.

Honeycutt to move into a special assistant position. Mark Prior will take over. 14 years Honeycutt was pitching coach.

Hard to believe it's come to this. Where has the time gone? Freese has had an exceptional career.

Anybody upset about not bringing back RYU? I did hear the Dodgers offered 4 years but not the AAV RYU wanted.

I have a feeling not re-signing RYU might hurt a little in 2020 but long term the Dodgers will be better off.

I also think he's going to have some tough games over in the AL East. Facing the Red Sox, Tampa & NY probably around 10+ times during the season could result in an ERA higher than what he's worth.

Dodgers have to get rid of Dave Roberts. He cracks under pressure.

Alex Wood back in blue on a 1 year deal.

I think this is a good thing. If he can be in the starting rotation (which I think he will be) he can be a big part of it especially if the younger pitchers struggle.
