Not sure if someone started a Sox thread or not. If so, my apologies.

Anyway, with all the expectations, my Red Sox have laid one hell of an egg so far.

Pitching is not looking good. Bard got shelled. Lackey got shelled. Buchholz didn't look terrible, but not great. The pen is not looking good.

The offense is not coming alive. Papi is getting going early for a change, and A-Gon looks great, but Crawford, Youk, Salty, and the others don't look so hot.

I only hope they have a good series in Cleveland. Every game they fall behind is one they have to make up later. It's early, but the Yankees are no easier to beat later on.

nice to see a Red Sox thread.

I wouldn't worry to much about the Texas series, they're good hitters and they hit.

Papi looks great and AGon does too I disagree with you on Youk he had some very good swings and a couple of doubles, even many of his outs were loud.

Going into the season I was worried about Lackey and Beckett, so far I haven't seen anything to ease those fears.

Maybe Beckett will pitch well on Tuesday

I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Texas is a pretty good club and it's a long season.

I've always believed that the biggest error was committed by John McNamara. I cannot recall who else was available but considering the condition of Buckner's legs Don Baylor might have been a better choice for the ninth inning.

I usually pull for Boston as my second favorite AL team, but I also am a big fan of all the talking heads having to stick their collective feet in their collective mouths - and since essentially everyone picked Boston....lol

Boston will be fine.

The Giants lost 3 in a row on 13 different occasions last season, and they still managed to win the World Series.
