This is a different era, a different team and its making its own legacy w/o the help of Bob Prince, Lanny Frattere, Green Weenies, babushkas or Sister Sledge.
Cannonball's coming, and I hope it takes out all this silly nostalgia.
EWWWWWW what a pooper you are man... WE ARE FAMILY!!
I think the Pirates have a good chance of advancing to the NLCS. St. Louis has two games in PNC Park now, and PNC Park these days looks about as friendly as late 90's Yankee Stadium
The worst part of losing Monday's game is that if the Bucs had actually listened to Mark Appel, they could have passed on that wasted pick and drafted Wacha instead.
And now with Wednesday's game shifted to night, good chance that "DayDro" Alvarez is neutralized.
Ah well. Bucs know they can get to Wainwright unless he's completely on his game. They've got a few guys with career 1+ OPS against him. Question is, will he be as good as Game 1. Or will Cole for that matter? All hands on deck, should be entertaining.
I despise the St. Louis Cardinals, now more than ever.
Meh. Good organizational model for Pirates to follow and fans are good sports. They're a shade better than the Bucs right now and every game was won by the team that deserved to win. No real luck to speak of.
Now, had you said the Reds, I'd agree wholeheartedly.

To be honest, while the Pirates could learn from St. Louis, this doesn't change that I have no respect for the Cardinals. I can't like a team that beat a team I was pulling for. Other reasons I have no respect for the Cardinals:
As much as I wanted Pittsburgh to win you cannot help but wonder why didn't the fan base show up before the playoffs? baseball town?
2,256,862 for 19th in MLB
28,210 also for 19th in MLB
Filling 73.5% of their stadium which puts them 15th in MLB.
The Brewers drew nearly 300,000 more fans than Pittsburgh who has been great all year and the Brewers were out of it by June 1st.
Don't worry Kansas City, Cleveland, Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore, Oakland, Arizona, Cincy. All teams that were in the playoff hunt down the stretch. and they couldn't even draw 2.6M
On a side note, I expect next year for Pitt to be a great attendance year, as does any year following a playoff year. It's usually the next year after a great year do you really see a huge jump in attendance.
