They had a nice stretch at home there and then revert back to mediocrity as soon as they step on the plane. The fact this team has a 4 city 12 game road trip later on in the season (the first team to have a 4 city road trip in about 6 or 7 years I think) doesn't inspire much confidence.

19-9.

19-9. In Felix starts, did we ever say they'd score 9 runs and lose? 3 pitchers combined for 6 innings and 16 earned runs.

Unfreakingbelievable.

The team and talent on it should be ashamed of this start.

They won 11-1 the day before, so for the two days the Mariners scored 20 runs and the opposition scored 20 runs. Seattle was 1-1 in those games, as random chance would suggest.

Going to be a very frustrating year if it keeps up like this. Finally having run support and blowing it isn't fun to watch.

I'm particularly worried about Felix.

Felix has turned into a mediocre pitcher over the past two years and the relief pitching is atrocious. Mike Zunino has been nothing but a minor leaguer bust since forever and is holding the team back. Why and the hell hasn't Seattle found a decent 1st baseman. Try Cruz there, they have nothing to lose.
Personally I am tired with re-building year after year while other team fly by them.

Zunino got sent down to AAA. Not sure they have anyone that will do any better tbh. He is good with the pitchers but yeah, his batting is no where.

More like Felix is our cleaner version of Dwight Gooden. Came up at 19, good pitcher, but used like a work horse. Not to mention, Felix is in his 30s now. At least Dwight Gooden was a decent pitcher on a squad with alot of talent. Felix has been a good pitcher on some horrible teams. The Mets rose and fell with Dwight Gooden. The Mariners have done horrible from 2004-now. Out of 13 seasons, only 4 winning seasons. 2007, 2009, 2014, 2016.
