I figured it is time the M's have their own official thread, and something tells me, there is still a chance of the M"s going to the playoffs in 2014.

Currently, the Seattle Mariners are in 2nd place in the AL West, 1.5 games back from 1st. If the M's can catch the Yankees or the A's(preferably catch the A's), that would be great. So far, so good.

I hope so, but am less optimistic. Typical of a young team is the kinds of losing and winning streaks they have shown so far. The question is whether they can sustain the winning over the long season and drop some of the losing, especially at home. It's helpful to get some injured starters back but we still have to score runs to win, and last night was a squeaker. What do you think of Rodney? He's a scary closer. I miss Kazu.

Rodney is alright. I just hope the winning continues. Maybe with me, it isn't so much optimism, but defiance. Last night was not good.

Honestly, one thing that has bugged me is this. How does a team that beats the Yankees, Rangers, and A's get beaten by the Astros of all team?

And Kansas City.

True. But Houston in particular. A team that has 3 consecutive 100-loss seasons, and is currently the worst team in the league. That is baffling.

So far it's been up and down, up and down, and I'm hoping for another streak, a good streak this time.

I think the M's have three major obstacles to overcome and won't see it happen any time soon. These obstacles are the A's, Angels and Rangers.
