Got swept by the Rays but all 3 games were generally close. Won the first game against the Yankees (of course maybe that was because the Yankees hadn't had a completed game in a week. Their 2 scheduled games in Washington before they went to KC got suspended and postponed) before losing 3-8 Saturday & 1-10 Sunday when the Yankees, presumably found their footing after the 4 or 5 days off. Sunday's outing was concerned as they only recorded 1 run & 4 hits with Sonny Gray pitching.

7 game road trip this week, the Show Me State series in St. Louis and than Arlington for 4 to close the week.

Won 2 of 3 in St. Louis to win round 1 of the Show Me state series, split 4 games in Texas winning the bookend games (1 & 4), and lost a Memorial Day home game to the Twins Monday night. They conclude the series with 2 more games against those Twinkies, have an off day Thursday, and than welcome in the Oakland Athletics over the weekend for 3 games.

Won the final 2 games against Minnesota, lost 2 of 3 to Oakland at home, than went to the West Coast and had a dismal 1-6 trip to Anaheim and Oakland getting swept by the Angels and losing 3 of 4 to the A's. Off day Monday coming back from the coast, Cincinnati comes in for 2 games Wednesday and Thursday, off day on Thursday and than the champs Astros come in for 3 over the weekend.

Woof! Got swept by the Reds (at home!!!) and then in a totally shocking development they got swept by an Astros team that finished a 10 game road trip a perfect 10-0. 3 against the Rangers beginning tonight, off day Thursday, 3 in Houston against those Astros over the weekend.

Default Herrera on the move

In a move I thought they should have made over the Winter (to coincidentally the same team), the Royals and Nats have agreed on a trade to send Royals closer Kelvim Herrera to the Nationals in exchange for 3 minor leaguers. Personally, I think the Royals should have dealt him to the Nationals over the winter for Michael Taylor, I've never heard of these 3 guys for the Nats. Sure, Taylor will probably never live up to his 2017 postseason high as he just has no plate discipline and continues to have no plate discipline and the Nats should have sold high, but he was a proven MLB caliber player that can start every day, is team controlled for the next 3 or 4 years and is relatively cheap which is what something the Royals organization should be looking at, but I digress. Herrera will join the Nats now 4 headed bullpen relief corps with ex-Twin Brandon Kintzler (currently on the DL), ex-Royal Ryan Madson and Sean Doolittle....all 3 were deadline trades for the Nats last year. Doolittle is entranced as the Nats closer now (he's like 18 of 19 in save chances), so he probably won't be getting many save opportunities, but of course this is the same organization that replaced a closer on July 27 with a 1.40 ERA so.....Madson the 8th inning guy has struggled this year and just recently got back off the DL, so I would think Herrera would be the set up most nights for Doolittle.

3 wins so far in 21 games in June. That's good right . Only 3-5 on games played on Friday's or Saturday's this month and a dreadful 0-13 every other day so far this month. Maybe this last week of June they can picture every day as a Saturday (a respectable 2-2, but they've lost the last 2 Saturday's after winning the first 2)

A makeup home game in the middle of a road trip (who scheduled this??) on Monday afternoon, 2 in Milwaukee against the Brewers, and than the month and week concludes with 3 in Seattle.

Won the makeup game vs. the Angels, split 2 games in Milwaukee before finishing the sweep getting swept by the Mariners. Indians make their first visit to the K in 2018 to start the week, and following a Thursday off day, the Red Sox come in to end the weekend.

I'm more interested in who ends up being traded this month than the results of this lousy season.. Hopefully they trade as much as they can and reload the farm system.

The Royals need to let Brandon Mauer go. I mean, the team sucks but every time they bring him in it just makes even more of a disaster.

Swept at home by Cleveland and Boston, and lost Monday to Minnesota. Interesting fact on the Royals the other night on Twitter: They had lost 26 of their last 30 games (now 28 of their last 32, think about that for a second, holy crap!) and yet they were STILL a game better than Baltimore, they currently lead the Orioles by percentage points, but the Royals are "catching up" in the race to the bottom. 2 more in Minnesota, 3 in Chicago before this miserable first half concludes. That's now 30 straight games they've been held to 5 runs or fewer, the longest streak since the advent of the DH
