The Mets pitcher admitted today that he threw at Escobar's head. Where is the fine and suspension?

It used to be called "hardball."

Chin music is part of the game.

It really wasn't chin music so much as forehead to top of helmet music. And it really didn't matter so much as the Royals had him on the ropes in the second inning, the Mets had a reliever warming in case he didn't manage to wiggle off the hook. I personally don't buy the "set a tone" narrative the national media was trying to pawn off as a story. If it did set a tone it was a very short lived one as the Mets imploded in game four.
