Hawk by far. But I'm a Cubs fan and don't care for the Sox anyway. I am glad for their fans, at least the ones intelligent enough to know how bad Hawk is (and there are a lot of them), that he's cutting back on his schedule starting this year.
Sterling amuses me more than anything. Suzyn Waldman is not as bad as some make out her to be.

I don't have that much of a problem with either announcer. They all, for what it's worth, have strengths and weaknesses. As to the subject here, both of these guys are legendary.

You seem to have an awfully low bar for "legend".
I'll give Hawk this much, I can see why ChiSox fans might like the guy. While "put it on the board, yes!" is tired as hell, at least that's his one truly hokey call. I'll forgive a homer announcer if he's entertaining, especially on a losing team. I hate listening to his highlights, except when he gets really mad. Then he can be truly funny.
Sterling OTOH is a pompous ass and buffoon. His "signature" calls are so stupid they almost defy descriptives of banality. He sounds like he should be announcing a cricket game with his pretentious pronunciation. And he steps all over Suzyn's mic constantly. If I were her, I'd stick a high heeled pump in his eye socket. Sterling, IMHO, is simply the #1 worst sports broadcaster going at the moment.
Plus Sterling's partner Suzyn Waldman is awful. This is why the Yankees have the worst broadcasters in Major League Baseball, other than Michael Kay, especially John Sterling. He's probably going to continue to make a lot of nonsense stuff up.
I like Hawk on the other hand. He just brings excitement to the game.
I like Hawk's "You can put it on the board yes" but Sterling's "Yankees win THAAAA YANKEES WIN, THAT BALL IS HIGH IT IS FAR IT IS GONE," is really annoying.
30. New York Yankees
Main Broadcasters: John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman
Ratings (Charisma/Analysis/Overall): 2.5, 1.7, 2.0

“As a Yankee fan, I am thankful for MLB At Bat.”
Notes
It’s difficult to find any feedback among the readers’ comments that doesn’t merely resort, at some point, to an ad hominen attack on the Yankees’ radio team. Which, that’s unfortunate. But also: probably indicative of the sort of frustration a FanGraphs reader might have attempting to comsume a Yankees game by way of the radio feed.

Hawk had an outburst when umpire Mark Wegner ejected Jose Quintana. A year later he had another outburst, this time on a blown double play ccall when Angel Hernandez called Alex Rios out, against Miami, where replay shows that Rios was safe. His reaction was, "AND ANOTHER BLOWN CALL by Hernandez!"
For Sterling, on Jerry Meals blown call against the Yankees in Baltimore, Sterling said that on the replay that Mark Texeira was clearly safe. Those two calls are very similar between the two announcers' calls. At least Sterling doesn't overreact as Hawk does even though Sterling really gets annoying, especially with all of his nonsense calls.
