I wonder how many White Sox fans will show up at Wrigley. It's still routing for a Chicago team right? or is the crosstown rivalry that bad? not that they would be playing each other during a world series.

All the Cub fans I know rooted for the White Sox in 2005 - from their living rooms or local bars. The Sox aren't our team of choice, but they're still a home team.

I assume Sox fans feel the same way.

God this home plate umpire sucks. Pitches 3 inches off the plate? Strike! Pitches two inches fully inside the zone? Ball!

Game four must see fowler,Bryant and at least Rizzo to get on base for Zobrist to finally go long or his patented double. I saw Zobrist in Tampa a few games and he is unbelieveable when hot . He only hit 18 HR this year which for him sucks I expected 24, but his hitting is unmistakenly solid.
If Zobrist can't carry Cubs someone else has to deliver!!!! We are up against pitchers who are aliens from another planet.

I don't think anyone is going long tonight. That's a pretty stiff inward breeze. Besides, that looked to be part of their problem last night where they seemed to be aiming for Sheffield or Waveland with every swing instead of just putting the ball in play and/or advancing runners. It's going to be a different plan tonight with a complete reversal of wind direction.

ETA: Looks like they're not going to play the kind of small ball they need to win the game. Leadoff double, but instead of taking the out to move him to third Bryant swings away, pops it up, and Fowler doesn't advance.

What is it about these umpires that they can't call balls and strikes? A ball right down the middle just above the belt doesn't get called? A ball clearly over the plate a good 3 inches above the knees doesn't get called?

This is gonna be a long night for Lackey. It really gets to his head when he doesn't get close calls, much less obvious ones.

Gah. Why are they pulling Lester who's only at 80-some pitches when the middle relief has been uneven at best? I have an uneasy feeling about this.

ETA: going to Chapman with 1 out in the 7th??? That's a lot of opportunities for a batter to catch up to his fastball
