The two remaining ballparks from a bygone era, Wrigley Field and Fenway Park, are treasured by many fans as the best MLB ballparks. So I'd like to eliminate them from the discussion and look at the ballparks of the modern era, all the rest that began with Dodger Stadium in the 1960s.
Of all the parks, all the list of "best park", the parks that are part of the retro era begun with the spectacular Camden Yards, two seem to have emerged as the best, arguably the best in all MLB. Those parks appear to me to be...
AT&T Park and PNC Park.
Both feature waterfront settings with fantastic views and traditional layouts. It is no surprise that the two are the top of the heap and choosing between the two would be difficult indeed.
but choose we must....so, which one is the better park....and why is that so?
Haven't been to AT&T so can't say. But PNC beats any other MLB park I've been to. Sightlines, backdrop, closeness to the action, transit access, proximity to downtown, amenities.
