Judge has had 3 homeruns robbed already this year. Two by outfielders, the other one by an awful call. Annoying
Yankees actually have one of the best bullpen ERAs in baseball apparently. Everything is suggesting that Yankees have very very very **** luck, and that it should improve
Giancarlo hit two homeruns yesterday to take his yearly total to 28. His is easily on pace for 40 homeruns and should reach it easily if not for another stupid injury
DBacks trade for JD Martinez. A definite upgrade for them. They, still, are very unlikely, to catch the Dodgers but are very much in the thick of the wild card race and this move will certainly help them in that area (and in the playoffs should they make it).
The prospects they gave up, Dawel Lugo; Sergia Alcantera; and Jose King, aren't, in my opinion, of much note - the Tigers apparently believed otherwise - so this looks like a very good move for Arizona.
Per everyone on Twitter, the Yankees and White Sox are close to a deal for Todd Frazier.
It appears the key to the trade is Yankee minor league OFer Blake Rutherford. He's a better prospect than anyone the Tigers got for JD Martinez, which makes no sense since Martinez is a much better player than Frazier.
ETA: It appears that the Yankees would also be receiving RP David Robertson, which would explain the inclusion of Rutherford.
EATA: Also Tommy Kahnle would be going to the Yankees. Rutherford, Chase Headley, Tyler Clippard and another piece would go going to Chicago.
This also feels, to me, like a light return. The White Sox are taking on salary in Headley and Clippard, and receiving the good, but not great Rutherford in return...

They are also getting Robertson and from what I heard another one of the Sox' best relievers. David Robertson has a 2.81 ERA in 7 season with the Yankees

Terrible trade on the Tigers end. Granted, he's gone at the year's end, but if Al Avilla (Tigers GM) had waited another 10-12 days that would've EASILY been trumped by someone. Arizona's farm system is one of the worst in baseball, and they didn't even get one of Arizona's better prospects .
Who knows what happens between now & July 30?? Maybe Werth suffers a setback in rehab and Harper gets hurt?? Suddenly now you have a team with a corner outfield vacancy (actually 2), that is going to win their division AND they are in win now mode that would net you a FAR BETTER package than what Avilla got back from AZ. And at the worst case scenario, since AZ is probably still in a playoff position on July 31, you could always go back to AZ on the night of the 30 & morning of the 31, and do this trade then. If this was the "best" Avilla could do, he's certainly not going to get a better offer from Arizona, especially when Martinez will have about 10 more games and 35-40 more at bats acquiring him now then if they got him on the 30th or 31.

Tommy Kahnle who has some ridiculous numbers! But, for getting rid of Clippard I would've taken the White Sox bullpen catcher back! The fact they actually got 3 serviceable players back for Clippard & 4 prospects was good enough. The fact that of those 3 serviceable players: 1 can play first (a virtual black hole this year), and was a semi local kid, a reliever with insane numbers AND a former relief pitcher that's been decent this year after a terrible 16 was great. The fact they gave up Clippard was a miracle!
