Rox dropped 2 out of 3 in St Louis this past weekend, have slipped down to 3rd place at 20-17.

Sadly, they had only ONE hit on Friday night and only TWO hits on Saturday - losing both games 3-0.

Is St. Louis pitching really that good?
- Shelby Millier who won on Friday night pitched all 9 innings and is now 5-2 with an ERA of 1.58.
- Adam Wainwright who won on Saturday night pitched all 9 innings and is now 5-2 with an ERA of 2.30 ERA.

I'd say both of them are darned good. St Louis is tied with Texas for the best record in baseball at 24-13, a pace of .649

Meanwhile, as happens every year, the teams that start off the season by tearing up the league with records of .750 or better have reverted to the mean and things are settling in to a normal routine.

The Rox could write a book on how not to win two out of three in a set. Chapter 1: Get blasted 9-1 against the Chicago Cubs. Find it on shelves later this summer!

Well, at least Rutledge got good wood on the ball.

Well, the Rockies dropped 2 of 3 to the Cubs in Chicago, scoring 13 vs 19 for the Cubs. Now, 21-19, two games behind the Giants.

Rox are back home this weekend, playing FOUR games against Division leading SF Giants, and need to win three of them.

Meanwhile, the season is now 25% over.

Chatwood looked good last night, in for the injured Jeff Francis. A couple weeks ago I was ready to ship Francis off to AAA but he has leveled off. The Rox had a big win last night and I'm glad to see them pushing back against the Giants. May has been a tough month once again, but it has not been the disaster it usually is. The team is keeping up and seems to be pretty serious about winning.

YES!! Finally, the Rox rose to the occasion and just took 3 of 4 from the defending champions SF Giants.

So, Rox and Giants are tied for second, one game behind AZ, who lost today.

Rox are 24-20 at .545 which is not good enough to win any division or wild card slot, but their play this weekend is very much improved.

And the Rox have an opportunity to keep it going this week with a three game set at home vs the Diamondbacks followed by a visit to San Francisco to play the Giants again. The Rox are 3-4 against both of those teams, so this really is a chance to get an edge on these rivals.

Are there any Rockies intensive fans on this thread?

By "intensive," I mean anyone that watches the game EVERY night and also watches the hometown pre and post game shows?

I need some help with a project and would love some input.

Quote my post or PM me for more information.

Nope, casual fan here.

Rocks blew a 4-0 lead last night, but they still managed to pull out a win.

Okay, the Rox just took 2 of 3 from AZ, and coupled with the Giant's loss today to Washington, there's now a 3-way tie for first place at 26-21.

After a well deserved day off tomorrow, the Rox go into SF to play the Giants in what has been a house of horrors for the Rox. As of the April 2013 series in AT&T Park, the Rox were 4-16 in their prior 20 games at that ballpark. Going back to 2011, the Rox were 9-28 against the Giants, who really seem to have the Rockies' number. Hopefully that ended last weekend when the Rox took 3 of 4 from the Giants.
